Jean Wyllys is a strange body in a National Congress of increasingly conservative tendencies, based on a moralistic discourse and impregnated by Christian fundamentalism. For three years, this documentary has followed the steps of the deputy as a spokesman for LGBT+ causes, attending political discussions that overflow from Brasilia to the streets and to social media, in a political polarization unprecedented in the country. In addition to outlining the profile of a singular character, Among Righteous Men is the prologue to the current crisis scenario of Brazilian politics.
Caio Cavechini and Carlos Juliano Barros manage to film the most modern Brazilian politics as if we were watching an intense thriller or a fabulous action film.
