A look at refugees hoping to be granted asylum on a Scottish island. Focused on Omar, a young musician who is fed up with the weight of his grandfather’s lute, which he has carried from his native country.

The immobile odyssey of Omar and his three roommates, all waiting to regularize their situation in the icy Scottish lands, is a journey worthy of the twelve labors of Hercules. To get out of this limbo called migration, in which we always live in no man’s land, our protagonists will have to attend cultural awareness classes without dying of embarrassment or choking while holding back their laughter, watch the whole series of ‘Friends’, get to the only telephone booth on the island, overcome the daily anguish of waiting for a letter that never seems to arrive, suffer the deaf daily xenophobia, resist the precarious work in black that the whole island practices but which they are strictly prohibited, manage to return to sing, play the lute, or simply live.
