Bilbao BBK Live, The xx and Zinegoak team up for film programming and more at Night + Day Bilbao<\/b><\/h1>\n

BBK Live, <\/span>The xx<\/span>\u00a0and\u00a0Zinegoak<\/span>\u00a0<\/b>team up to offer a curated film programme focussed on the youth and their sexual identity and orientation through urban and contemporary stories.<\/span>\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

From July 7<\/span>th<\/span> to 9<\/span>th<\/span> Bilborock will show 4 screenings as part of The xx\u2019s Night + Day Bilbao event that brings the band to the city ahead of their headline performance for BBK Live. The selection includes 3 films, one documentary and 2 shorts.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201c<\/span>We couldn\u2019t have dreamt of a better partner than Zinegoak to help us curate the films for Night + Day Bilbao. Their film festival takes place in Bilbao each Winter and features the best of LGBTQ cinema.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The xx<\/span>\u00a0were excited about the idea that the cinema would take place at this <\/span>deconsecrated<\/span><\/i> church, turned into one of the most popular arts centre\u2019s in Bilbao, and also an important space for new bands in the city.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The film festival aims to show a contemporary and very young vision of the personal experiences and the social circumstances that build identity and allow people to explore sexual orientation in different ways; sometimes free and others more troubled.<\/span><\/p>\n

Beach Rats <\/b>(Eliza Hittman)<\/span><\/p>\n

Eliza Hittman\u2019s Sundance award-winning film was also one 2017\u2019s most praised indie films. It is a powerful portrait of the complex construction of masculinity and the sexual identity of a teenager living on the outskirts of Brooklyn, NY.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Coby <\/b>(Christian Sonderegger)<\/span><\/p>\n

This feature looks at a young transgender YouTuber in the American Midwest, and how their transformation disrupts the lives of all who love them. A physical and emotional journey for Coby and her family. A real treasure which recently premiered in France and is receiving fantastic reviews.<\/span><\/p>\n

Postcards from London<\/b> (Steve McLean) <\/span><\/p>\n

Recently premiered at the FLARE Film Festival in London, this shows the life of a gang of male escorts in the Soho and a young newcomer, who soon becomes one of the most coveted boys in town thanks to the ethereal beauty of his body, the perfect canvas for the gang\u2019s fantasies.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

Girlhood<\/b> (C\u00e9line Sciamma)<\/span><\/p>\n

Centered on a group of black girls who live in a tough neighborhood on the outskirts of Paris, they reveal themselves as fighters in their own way against a society trying to force them into a machine which they reject. The director has an incredible ability to make the viewer feel involved in the characters and their lives with the strength of their story. A highly recommended experience!<\/span><\/p>\n

Shorts <\/span>Harding & His Camera<\/b> by Rob Eagle and<\/span> Mai<\/b> by Marta Gonz\u00e1lez are included in the programming as well.<\/span><\/p>\n
