It is New Year’s Eve in Medarcos, a small inhospitable and frozen village in the mountains of Madrid. Roma is 9 years old and her favourite place is on the lap of her father, Rodolfo. But the atmosphere is strained after her mother has decided not to spend the holidays with her father’s family. When Roma dresses up as a boy to sing in the middle of the family celebration, she discovers her father’s intolerance. Nothing will ever be the same again.
