ZG PRO is Zinegoak’s professional space focused on innovation, research, and training around LGTBIQ+ audiovisual production. Its aim is to support, give visibility to, and connect projects and professionals working in cinema related to sexual, identity, and gender diversity.
Although queer cinema has gained more presence in commercial circuits in recent years, access to these spaces remains limited for most projects. For this reason, ZG PRO 2026 reaffirms its commitment to supporting LGTBIQ+ film creation at a local, national, and international level.
The program is developed in collaboration with the Southern European LGTBIQ+ Festival Network (Queer Lisboa and Queer Porto, Mix Milano, Chéries-Chéris Paris, and Zinegoak), and the Spanish Network of LGBTIQ+ Labs, which includes FIRE!! LAB, QueerCineLab —bringing together the festivals Lesgaicinemad, Cinhomo, Andalesgai, and Fancinequeer— and Zinegoak. Together with the San Sebastián International Film Festival (SSIFF), and for the third consecutive year, each lab awards the ZG PRO Industry SSIFF Prize, enabling the producers’ team of the winning project to access the festival’s industry forums.
As a new addition, ZG PRO incorporates the collaboration of Triodos Bank, sponsor of the ZG PRO LABORATEGIA Prize, endowed with €3,000 and the Neurads Award, which offers a mentoring process for the development of projects with a queer focus. It also receives support from Music Library & SFX, sponsor of the ZG PRO Music Library Prize, and includes the participation of the digital market Incoproduction.
ZG PRO takes place over two days at Azkuna Zentroa: on June 25, ZG PRO Master Class, featuring talks by audiovisual and cultural professionals; and on June 26, ZG PRO LAB, which includes project pitching sessions, specialized conferences, and one-to-one meetings.
All ZG PRO activities are open to the public, with a special focus on industry professionals and students interested in film industry practices linked to LGTBIQ+ culture.

Our history will be lost if we do not tell it ourselves. Or even worse, if others tell it for us. Projects focusing on LGBTIQ+ memory have flourished in the Basque Country in recent years, undertaken from a variety of perspectives and backgrounds: from grassroots movements, from the institutional sphere, or from cultural spaces. But what kind of benchmarks are we creating? Is there a roadmap for building a shared narrative? Is it necessary?

In SpanishÂ
Our sensory experience of science and technology is made up of visual and cultural references that have taken hold of our imaginary. Inside, we find ourselves trapped, anxiously searching for a future that promises survival. What experiences can dissenting voices from the south bring to disrupt this perverse cycle? How can we disrupt the flow of time to expand our imagination of what is possible?

In English. With simultaneous interpretation
Ana David and Jacqueline Nsiah will discuss the challenges and possibilities of queer film programming that is committed to intersectional perspectives and critical curatorial practices, in contrast to the dominant criteria of major international festivals. Based on their experiences, they will reflect on representation, dissidence and the limits of hegemonic cultural structures, as well as ways to open up new spaces for visibility and resistance.

MarÃa Rosón, Isabel Cadenas Cañón and Fer Rivas will approach these other ways of constructing a memory of dissent together in a discussion moderated by Julia Martos. Faced with the persecution of expressions of queer life and in the face of censored representation, these denied identities create new materialist methodologies of memory that queer the official archive: twisting it until the resulting fractured image reveals its contradictions and exposes its gaps.
