A tragedy that takes place in the arid Argentinean pampa: adultery, hatred and various differences lead to an explosion of rage and violence that tears two families apart. When Poldo realises that his great comrade, Farmer Pichón, has offended little Nati, his mute daughter, he decides to break off their relationship completely. Poldo also forbids his wife to see Pichón, not suspecting that the two are having an affair.
